There will be plenty to see and do in Langley on B.C.’s Family Day, Monday, Feb. 12.

Come out for some family fun at the Fraser Valley Family Day at the Langley Events Centre Monday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year all the activities will be inside the arena, instead of the fieldhouse.

Once again C&D Logistics, along with the LEC and Vancouver Giants, are putting on the full day of events that start with a free family skate from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Bring your own or borrow a pair for free and take to the ice. The skate will be followed by the Vancouver Giants taking part in a skills competition and autograph sessions. In the main concourse service groups and vendors will offer information and events. Township firefighters will once again be there with their smoke room. The Stealth and Rams along with their mascots will also join the fun.

The banquet hall will include everything for kids from bouncy castles and balloon making to face painting and a toddler’s room. McDonald’s will be providing coffee. Concessions will be open and there will be plenty of food options.

“There’s so much to do. It’s going to be awesome,” said C&D Logistics CEO Dana Matheson.

The day is free, but donations are welcome with proceeds going to Basic for Babies and the Washington Kids Foundation to help underprivileged kids play sports.

“We want this to be accessible to all families so even if you throw in a loonie, that’s good,” he said.

FLIGHT MUSEUM

The Canadian Snowbird and Starfighter jets are polished and ready for the Canadian Museum of Flight’s third annual Family Day open house, featuring an airplane-themed Valentine cards craft table, tours of the museum and cookie’s n’ cream hot chocolate station from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The flight museum is located at 5333 216 St. at the Langley Airport.

LANGLEY CITY

In Langley City Timms Community Centre will open its gymnasium to families, offering bouncy castles, crafts, face painters and games for all ages from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
