An abandoned homeless camp near the Langley Regional Airport caught fire late last night.

Both City and Township crews responded to the call at 10:45 p.m. of a bush fire on the City/Township border at 56 Avenue and the Langley Bypass.

There was no one present at the site when crews arrived, however remains of a homeless camp were found, Township fire chief Pat Walker told the Times.

Fire crews are continuing to investigate the cause.

More to come.
