Fire crews worked on a house fire Wednesday afternoon on 24th Avenue at 203rd Street.

A home in South Langley was all but destroyed by fire early Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called out shortly after noon to a "fully involved" house fire on 24th Avenue.

When fire crews arrived, they did find the home in the 20300 block of 24th Avenue to be "engulfed," with flames seen shooting through the roof.

It's unclear if anyone was home at the time of the blaze. Crews are continuing to battle the fire that was reportedly in a one-storey rancher-style house about 40 X 40 feet.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, with 24th Avenue closed as emergency crews tackle the fire.
