Gun scare in downtown Langley

Police were called to the 5500 block of 203rd St. with a report that a man had a gun, but he didn’t.

A police investigation after receiving reports of a person with gunin downtown Langley on Sept. 27 turned up no weapon.

The incident occured at approximately 9 p.m. in the 5500-block of 203 St.

Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy said police received a report that a man had a gun.

“Somebody called in that somebody had a gun, and he didn’t.”

Largy said the suspect was inside a house when police arrived. After calling for the person to come outside, police entered the residence and discovered the man was sleeping.

The person is not in custody since, Largy reported, “there was no offence.”
