The City of Langley Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department is hosting a morning of free activities and fitness as the 90-day Healthy Community Challenge comes to an end.

The Healthy Community Challenge kicked off on March 10, as a free 90-day initiative intended to inspire and motivate people throughout the province to take steps toward better health and well-being. A celebration of the success of this initiative will take place on Saturday, June 9 from 10 a.m. to  noon in Douglas Park, 20550 Douglas Cres.

The event will provide the opportunity for participants of the 90-day Healthy Community Challenge to have their final metrics taken by the staff from Innovative Fitness.

It will also introduce residents to a variety of low-cost or no-cost activities available to everyone through the City’s Recreation, Culture and Community Services department.

Free activities being offered during the event include outdoor volleyball, soccer, bocce, croquet, chess, nordic walking, fitness activities and more. The event will also feature a free Zumba class at the Douglas Park Spirit Square from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Participants at this celebration can enter to win prizes including a three month City of Langley Fitness pass, an adult season pass to Al Anderson Memorial Pool and a set of three personal training sessions at Innovative Fitness.
