Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm & Meadery will be hosting its eighth annual  Free Bee Education and Family Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 23.

The fun day will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the honey farm located at 2595 Lefeuvre Road on the Langley/Abbotsford  border, said event organizer Coral Allard.

“This is our annual free community event and one way that we give back to our local community” added Judy Campbell, production manager of Campbell’s Gold Honey Farm & Meadery.  “This event offers family fun for all ages, including a Langley Environmental Partners Society (LEPS) display focused on protecting and restoring the natural environment.”

The display will showcase their demonstration garden and sustainable gardening practices as well as information on the Grow Healthy, Grow Smart Program for kids, and a fun game/activity.

There will be opportunities to take a look at the bee nursery, see marking of the queens, and participate in general bee education and trips to the live hive.

Honey and honey wine tastings will also be available as well as high quality, hand crafted, local cheeses for tasting, provided by the Mt Lehman Cheese Company.

Delicious and organic Fair-Trade Tega Tea samples will also be offered.

Come early for some free pancakes, served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. by Campbell’s Gold staff members.

There will also be draws for all ages, and in store discounts.

The  Campbell’s Gold Country store will be open throughout the event, with natural source honeys, honey wines, and many beehive products.
