The suspicious death of a Langley man is under investigation, but police haven’t determined yet if it’s a murder.
On Dec. 4, just before 10:30 a.m., the Langley RCMP checked in on the well being of a resident in an apartment building in the 20100 block of 56th Avenue.
They found Lucito Santos Castillo, 42, dead inside the suite, said Cpl. Meghan Foster of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
Foul play has not been confirmed, but IHIT is now running the investigation, Foster said.
“The investigation is in its early stages, and while investigators continue to gather and review evidence, the events leading up to Mr. Castillo’s death remain unclear,” said Foster.
Castillo was also known as Cheeko or RJ. IHIT wants to talk to anyone who had recent contact with him.
“The events leading up to death remain unclear,” Foster said.
Meanwhile, an autopsy and further testing are scheduled to determine a cause of death.
The Langley RCMP and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section, along with the BC Coroner’s Service, are all working on the investigation, said Foster.
Foster said the deceased had a criminal record from 2004.

Anyone had recent contact with Castillo in the last few months, contact the police, Foster said.
