Langley Advance Christmas recipe request

Christmas recipes

Merry Ho-Ho!

The Christmas season is almost upon us – again. That means a call out to Langley residents to help make the 2012 holidays a little more special for our community.

We're planning to publish a special section in early December that features holiday recipes.

But we want it to be much more than just a simple recipe book. We want these recipes to be from local people and we want the recipes to hold significant meaning for the contributors.

You're invited to email us a recipe that holds significant meaning to you. It could simply be your favourite holiday treat, it could be a traditional family recipe, it could be something you created. All we ask is that (if you’ve submitted recipes in past, could you please send us a new one).

In addition to sending the recipe, can you please take a few moments to explain why this recipe is important to you. Elaborate at will. As well, if you have any photographs of yourself (or even of you and grandma, if it was her recipe that’s been handed down) that would be terrific, too. Or send us your old photo of you visiting Santa at the mall.

Pictures need to be high resolution jpegs, colour is preferred, if available. Do not alter the photos, please.

Send to news@langleyadvance.com.

We will publish a selection in the recipe supplement and the remainders online.

Thank you in advance. With your help, we can put together a very special compilation of community holiday recipes.

Please email the recipe, comments, and photos emailed to us before the deadline of 5 p.m. on Dec. 1.
