A Langley beauty salon will be the location of the second annual “We’re Here To Help” event for the needy organized by the Infinite Expansion Foundation.

There will be hot chocolate, coffee as well as clothing and other necessities for people in need at the Dec. 10 afternoon event at L’amour de soi on Douglas Crescent in Langley City.

“I’m happy to be a part of this,” said L’amour de soi owner Courtenay Smith, who has previously organized makeovers for female residents of a homeless shelter.

Foundation head Augustino Duminuco, a Langley resident and construction company CEO, said the offer by Smith means he can bring the event back to his hometown.

Duminuco also thanked business sponsors Tays Cedar Products, We Do Recover towing, Shooter Liquor store and Zone Garage B.C.

The first “We’re Here To Help” was organized by the Langley resident on Dec. 10 of last year on Hastings Street in Vancouver, and provided food, clothing and other necessities for about 200 people.

Since then, Duminuco has incorporated the foundation as a registered non-profit “dedicated to giving back to our community and providing those in need a hand up.”

Duminuco said the Langley City event has enough volunteers, but “I’m still looking for donations (Clothing, canned goods, gift cards, blankets).”

Anyone interested in contributing is invited to email the foundation at infiniteexpansion@shaw.ca.

The foundation also announced it has selected three low-income families for assistance over the holiday season, with more details expected to be announced in early December.
