The provincial government has told Langley City that it will provide extra support for Langley condo fire victims so they can obtain accommodation until Dec. 22, City Mayor Ted Schaffer told the Langley Advance.
Typically emergency services provides up to 72 hours of accommodation for victims of disasters and emergencies.
Schaffer said there is the possibility of assistance after that but the province has said each case will be assessed on an individual basis.
The 86 unit condo complex was heavily damaged by fire Dec. 11. The fourth storey was destroyed with the first three floors impacted by smoke and water, and the underground parking garage flooded.
