Langley crash leaves elderly woman with life-threatening injuries

Two seniors were in a car that went off the road in a Saturday morning crash and one required air ambulance.

Langley RCMP Traffic Services will conduct the investigation into a single vehicle collision that occurred just after 10:15 a.m. June 20.

A vehicle was southbound on 232nd Street in the 4600 block when it went off road to the right, into a ditch and collided with a concrete abutment.

The two occupants of the vehicle, a couple in their 80s were both injured in the crash, explained Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy.

"The female passenger was trapped for a time and required extrication from the vehicle," Largy said. "She was transported by air ambulance for treatment of her life-threatening injuries. The male driver was transported by ground ambulance with less serious injuries."

It is unknown why the vehicle went off the road so anyone who may have witnessed the collision and not spoken to police is asked to call Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.

ICARS has been called to attend and assist with the investigation.
