Inder Johal is the new candidate for the NDP in the Langley East riding.

The new Langley East riding has its first NDP candidate, after Inder Johal was acclaimed at a March 28 constituency meeting.

Johal is a recent post-secondary graduate who said young people have been neglected by B.C. Premier Christy Clark.

She has made life more expensive for everyone, hiking MSP fees, Hydro and ICBC rates. Our schools and hospitals are suffering, and quality childcare isn't there or is priced out of reach” said Johal.

The new candidate is at the communications coordinator for the Kwantlen Public Interest Research Group and a member of the United Steelworkers. She also teaches high school students workplace safety and employee rights.

Johal will be going up against long-time Liberal MLA Rich Coleman in the Langley East riding. Most of the former Fort Langley-Aldergrove riding is within the newly-created Langley East riding.
