At least one person was pepper sprayed in an incident in downtown Langley City Tuesday afternoon.

BC Amblance Paramedics, City firefighters, and RCMP were all called out to help with the situation in the 20500 block of 56th Avenue, across from the Value Village.

At least one man was attended to by paramedics, who flushed out his eyes. Firefighters then sprayed him with a fire hose to decontaminate him.

A woman may also have been sprayed, said Cpl. Holly Marks, a spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

She said it was unclear as of Tuesday afternoon what led to the pepper spraying.

The people involved were not cooperating with officers, she said.
