March was a busy month for thieves in Langley, and the local RCMP are looking for suspects for both violent and non-violent offenses.

On March 12, an unknown man entered the employee lunchroom at MacDonald Stoves and Stones at 248th Street and the Fraser Highway just before 6 p.m. The man walked off with an employee’s wallet, said Cpl. Holly Marks, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

Police obtained surveillance footage of the suspect the next day.

On March 13th, at around 9 p.m., two men put stolen meat in a backpack and tried to walk out of the Safeway in the 20800 block of Fraser Highway. A loss prevention officer in the store tried to follow the men, but one of them pepper sprayed him, said Marks.

Both suspects are about 25 years old, one with dark skin and standing about 6’0”, the other Caucasian and 5’10”, wearing a black jacket and a black hat.

A possible attempted scam artist left a North Langley credit union branch on March 21st. Police were called at 6:15 p.m. after a woman attempted to cash an altered government cheque, said Marks. Staff tried to stall her departure, but she left before the police arrived.

Any information about the suspects can be called in to the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200, or to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
