The Langley RCMP is showing a significant seizure of weapons , the result of a lengthy investigation.
The Langley RCMP Drug Section investigated the drug trafficking activities of a local group, with the assistance of the Langley RCMP Prolific Offender Suppression Team, Street Enforcement Unit and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team, Police executed search warrants in separate parts of Langley on April 22, said Sgt. Ravinder Pawar.
Among the items seized were handguns, magazine clips, rifles, a shotgun, various ammunition and a cross bow.
A variety of controlled drugs and substances were located and seized including heroin, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, MDMA also known as Ecstasy, as well as suspected fake Oxycontin pills, along with a significant amount of cash.
"Police arrested two people during the warrant execution and as the investigation continues will be recommending numerous criminal charges against these and other members of this group," Pawar said.
"It is critical to the long term safety and living quality of Langley that we, the RCMP, continue to effectively target local and regional crime groups," said Supt. Murray Power. "Any groups engaged in drug trafficking, weapons possession and or use are a real and credible threat to our community. Our specialized units in Langley will continue to work collectively and keep the pressure on persons engaged in crime. More work to do."
