The Langley Rivermen Jr. A hockey team held a 50/50 draw at their game at the Langley Events Centre on Sunday, with all the funds going to the Paskall family.
In total, $2,500 was raised, said a spokesperson from the Langley Events Centre.
It's believed the winner of the 50/50 donated back his or her winnings to the Paskall fund.
Julie Paskall was waiting to pick up her 14-year-old son from refereeing at a hockey game at the Newton Recreation Centre when she was beaten, likely with a rock, and left for dead on Dec. 29.
She died later in hospital. Her killer is still out there.
The murder has "ripped the heart out" of the Paskall family, her husband of more than 30 years told the media. Her disabled daughter said her mother was her everything.
The violent death underscored the crime around the centre and calls and pressure have been put on Surrey to clean it up.
A trust fund for the family has been set up at VanCity credit union.
Police are still looking for witnesses or anyone with information as they have little to go on so far.
