Langley woman arrested in $2 million heroin bust in California

A police dog in Modesto, Calif., reacted to a routine traffic stop on July 26 and uncovered $2 million worth of heroin.

The Modesto Police announced the arrest of 63-year-old Kathleen Landry of Langley.

Officers stopped a Nissan Titan for a traffic violation.

Cash, a police dog, alerted on the vehicle.

Patrol officers, with the assistance of the Modesto Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET), obtained a search warrant for the truck. During the search, officers recovered 38 kilos of heroin with an estimated street value of over $2 million.

Landry was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales, and transportation of a controlled substance, according to the Modesto Police.

The announcement received a lot of positive response on the Modesto Facebook page with people in the community glad to see so much narcotic off the street.
