Langley saw three murders in 2016, two of them thought to be gang related.
The first investigation began on Jan. 22, when Kevin Brunelle, 36, was found dead in the Langley City hotel where he both lived and worked.
He had been found injured in a nearby alley the previous day, and may have been assaulted. There have been no arrests.
A pair of violent, gang-related murders rocked Langley in October, beginning with the death of a Hells Angel on Oct. 16.
Robert Keith Green, 56, was found by police, dying on a property in the 23700 block of 72nd Avenue.
A senior member of the outlaw motorcycle gang, Green had been part of Vancouver’s East End chapter and the elite Nomads chapter, and most recently Mission City.
It didn’t take long to find the suspect, Jason Francis Wallace, 27, who was affiliated with the 856 gang that originated in Aldergrove. Wallace was arrested in a roadside stop by Surrey RCMP on Oct. 17.
Ten days after Green’s killing, the dismembered body of Shaun Alan Clary, 27, was found on a quiet stretch of Robertson Crescent in Langley. The body appeared to have been dumped there.
Clary also had reported ties to the 856 gang.
There has been no arrest in his murder.
