Marijuana gummies and loaded guns were found during a Langley RCMP raid on a Willoughby home on June 10.
Local police received information about drug trafficking in the 19800 block of 72nd Avenue, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.
Investigators found that a suspected trafficker was selling pot to locals, including juveniles.
Police arrived at the home with a search warrant last Friday and found 20 pounds of dried marijuana, three pounds of suspected hash, and substances believed to be marijuana gummies and “shatter,” which is a translucent concentrate of marijuana.
The police also found a shotgun and an assault rifle, both loaded and not safely stored. Ammunition was also located.
“It is obviously a great concern to both police and residents when we become aware of an individual selling drugs to young people,” said Staff Sgt. Richard Bergevin, commander of the Langley Plainclothes section. “Compounding this concern is the presence of loaded firearms, unsecured in a residential property.”
The 29-year-old suspect, a Langley man who was already known to police, has been released and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 7. Police will recommend charges, said Largy.
