Langley Township will look into low-cost borrowing when considering whether to widen 208th Street in Willoughby.
Councillor Petrina Arnason, who put forward a motion for a new report on the busy street in February, received unanimous council approval for the idea at Monday night’s meeting.
Township staff is putting together a report on the costs of widening the busy road, one of the main arteries of the fast-growing Willoughby area.
Right now, developers widen 208th as they build, which has left parts of the road two lanes, parts three, and parts fully widened to four.
A 2015 report suggested the cost of widening the road from 64th Avenue to the highway overpass would cost $46 million.
The new report will take into account work that has been done since then.
