More than 1,400 BC Hydro customers lost power around noon today in Langley.

The Hydro website reports the area affected includes east of Enterprise Way, south of Glover Road, North of Fraser Highway and west of 232 Street.

The Willowbrook shopping centre has reportedly been closed until 3 p.m.

Hydro cited a “cable fault” as the cause.

By mid-afternoon, more than 300 Hydro customers in a smaller area were still without service and Hydro was saying power there would likely not be restored until 11:30 p.m.

The latest outages come after multiple failures on the weekend, the result of traffic accidents and downed trees.
