A suspect has been arrested in an April 30 shooting in Langley City that sent one man to the hospital.

The incident took place just after 4:30 a.m. in an apartment complex in the 5500 block of 209th Street, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

A suspect was arrested the next day.

Curtis Alexander Homeniuk, a 36-year-old Surrey man, has now been charged with aggravated assault, uttering threats, and a number of firearms offenses.

The shooting incident is believed to have been targeted, and a result of a personal conflict between the suspect and the 45-year-old victim.

The victim required surgery but has now been released from the hospital and is recuperating, Largy said.

Anyone who has information that may help with the police investigation, the RCMP are asking for witnesses to call them at 604-532-3200. To remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
