A 24-year-old man is dead and two other people are injured after a crash on Langley's 200th Street early Thursday.

Just after midnight, a southbound Ford Escort drove into the oncoming lanes in the 7700 block of 200th, hitting a northbound Mazda 3, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

The Escort's passenger side collided with the front of the Mazda 3, Largy said.

The 24-year-old victim was a passenger in the Ford Escort.

Both the 30-year-old Langley woman driving the Mazda and the 28-year-old Langley man behind the wheel of the Ford were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, as well as possibly bad weather and road conditions.

Officers will apply for a warrant for blood sample from the Ford's driver.

Largy said 200th Street was closed from the time of the crash to 5:30 a.m.

The victim's name has not yet been released, as officials are still trying to reach his next of kin.
