A man received non-life threatening stab wounds and had his car stolen in a break in on the Surrey/Langley border early Wednesday.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. the Surrey RCMP was called to a residential break and enter in the 19100 block of 62A Avenue.
"An adult male homeowner confronted suspects inside the home, a physical altercation ensued and the homeowner was stabbed," said Surrey S/Sgt. Dale Carr.
The two Caucasian male suspects fled the home taking the homeowners 2005 white Mini Cooper with a black top and bearing BC licence plates of BT675H.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Surrey RCMP provided an update on the crime and now believes there were three men involved.
"Surrey RCMP advises that upon further investigation it is believed there are three suspects involved in this incident, two of which are Caucasian and one of which is approximately 5'10"-5'11" tall.
The homeowner, 57, was taken to a local area hospital to be treated for his non-life threatening injury, Carr said.
