Man struck by train in Fort Langley

A 50-year-old man was killed by a train while he was standing on the tracks.

A 50-year-old man was struck and killed by a freight train early Saturday morning.

Police suspect that he had been drinking during the evening. Langley RCMP said he was standing on the CN tracks in Fort Langley at about 2 a.m., when he was struck by a westbound  train.

He was killed instantly. The tragedy occurred near Glover Road and Mavis Avenue in the village.

Along with the police, Canadian National Railway and the B.C. Coroners Office are investigating the death.

The victim’s name has not been released.
