Two Langley murder suspects will be making court appearances before the end of the month in Surrey Provincial Court.
Michele Serdar is to appear in court on April 28. The appearance will be to fix a date as her case moves towards a trial.
Serdar was arrested in Quebec City on Nov. 24, and is accused in the murder of George Antone, a 71-year-old Kwantlen First Nation elder killed in his home in 2011.
Antone was a well-respected elder, and his death in his MacMillan Island home was a shock to the community.
Police have said they cannot release information about the possible motive, as it’s part of the case.
Two weeks before Antone was killed, Serdar broke into a different Langley house, and was charged and convicted of break and enter with intent to commit an offence.
She received a year’s probation, which was charged with breaching by October.
On April 29, Jesse River Hill is expected to make an early court appearance, also in Surrey. He is charged with second degree murder in the death of Taylor Johnson, the son of a Delta pastor.
Johnson’s body was found on Feb. 26, 2013, in a marijuana grow operation in south Fernridge. Police said they believe Hill was breaking in to steal the marijuana and didn’t know Johnson.
