A Mountie who served in Langley and elsewhere in the Lower Mainland is the new person in charge of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

Donna Richardson has been appointed as the Officer-in-Charge. IHIT is currently leading the investigation into the recent murder of Hells Angels member Bob Green in Glen Valley and the discovery of a dismembered body on Robertson Crescent.

Richardson has spent her policing career in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, beginning in North Vancouver as a general duty member among other duties. An Accredited Team Commander who has led major investigations throughout the Lower Mainland, Supt. Richardson has worked in Langley, Richmond and Surrey in a variety of roles from the drug section to major crimes.

I am humbled and honoured to have this opportunity to lead a talented and dynamic group of investigators and I’m looking forward to working with our detachments and municipal partners,” she said.

Her most recent posting was Operations Officer at Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – British Columbia, an anti-gang task force.

“Donna brings a broad range of experience to her role as the new Officer-in-Charge of IHIT. I have had the privilege of working with her in years past, and I have been impressed with her level of skill. I am very pleased to have her in this leadership position,” said assistant commissioner Bill Fordy, Lower Mainland District Commander.

IHIT covers the Lower Mainland District from Pemberton to Boston Bar, including Sechelt, and serves 28 RCMP and four municipal communities. IHIT has led more than 800 homicide investigations since its inception in 2003.
