Sponsored by Langley Gymnastics Foundation, Operation Red Nose has had another big weekend, according to organizer Mike Biggin.

On the weekend of Dec. 16 to 18, Operation Red Nose gave 133 people in Langley and Surrey safe rides home, Biggin said. Operation Red Nose will be back for New Year’s Eve, call 604-532-0888 for a free ride. Donations are accepted.

The drivers covered about 4,500 kilometres on just their most recent weekend of getting people home.

"We're just gearing up for New Year's Eve," Biggin said.

The all-volunteer service had a rough start this year, and had to cancel one night earlier in December. But after a public appeal for more volunteers, they got about eight to 10 more people sign up to help.

"The community and volunteers are just wonderful," said Biggin.
