Otter Co-Op theft hurts Langley charities

On Sunday, thieves in a white van took off with the barbecue and trailer which is used by many charities at local events.

Otter Co-Op’s barbecue and trailer that is used for charity events was stolen from the retail centre in the early morning of Sunday, (Oct. 16). This barbecue, which costs around $13,000, is donated almost daily to many non-profit groups to raise funds for their events and is an important aspect to Otter’s initiative to support the community.

Otter’s surveillance cameras captured the barbecue being stolen. A white van can be seen pulling up. It has distinguishing marks such as a broken right tail light and grey black moulding on the side. The thieves knew what they wanted as they arrived with a hitch on the van, ready to steal the barbecue and trailer.

If you have any information that could help lead to the recovery of the barbecue, please call RCMP at 604-532-3200.
