Photo: Anyone missing a Harris hawk?

Langley birder Cos van Wermeskerken believes he may have spotted someone's hunting bird near Brydon Lagoon Friday afternoon.

11174langleyHarrisHawk — At around 3:15 on Friday afternoon, Langley birder Cos van Wermeskerken took this photo of what he believes to be a Harris hawk, at Brydon Lagoon. The hawk's legs are tied together and the bird is belled. Presumably it belongs to someone who hunts with it, perhaps a falconer, he said. It was located at Brydon Lagoon near the small pond just South of the gravel road near the parking lot, he added. When it flew up, it moved a few hundred yards West in the floodplain.
