A green pickup truck hit a hydro pole, splitting the pole in half at the base, during a single vehicle crash at 200 Street and 36 Avenue on Sunday evening.
Township firefighters and B.C. Ambulance arrived at the scene to find the driver still inside his truck and the pole still standing, despite being cut in half by the impact of the crash.
According to assistant fire chief Bruce Ferguson, the driver managed to crawl out of the broken back window, with assistance from paramedics.
He was checked out but appeared to only have minor injuries.
