Plastics firm on Surrey/Langley border site of massive fire

A plastics factory at 194th Street and 56th Avenue has caught fire.

Smoke is billowing up into the sky and can be seen from miles away.

“It looks like a volcano,” said Newton resident Karlene Fortin, who spotted the fire as she walked to pick up her son from school.

“It’s crazy.”

Surrey RCMP say they have four officers doing traffic control in the area, and there is talk of stopping trains in the area.
