Six months after a fatal hit and run, Langley RCMP are once more asking for the public's help in finding the person responsible.
Daniel McAuley, 44, was walking home around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, when he was struck and killed in the 2900 block of 200 Street in a quiet residential area close to where he lived.
"After months of investigation, interviews and evidence gathering, police now believe the vehicle involved was a 2007 – 2011 Toyota Camry based on vehicle parts left at the scene. The vehicle may have had front end damage," said Cpl. Holly Largy in a statement.
Police now believe the vehicle in question was red.
Photos from a traffic camera have been released of the vehicle believed to have hit and killed McAuley and police ask that people look at it and try to refresh their memory from that time period.
"Do you have a friend who lost use of his vehicle for a couple days prior to Christmas? Did you notice some front end damage on a red Toyota Camry parked in your neighbourhood? Were you driving in the area that night, and recall seeing such a vehicle, or perhaps you know someone who was visiting in the area that night that drove this type of vehicle?"
People with information are asked to call Langley RCMP at (604) 532-3200 or Crime Stoppers, to leave an anonymous tip.
