Firefighters and police blocked 208th Street Saturday afternoon following a shed fire linked to a possible marijuana grow operation.

A Langley RCMP investigation is ongoing after a small marijuana grow operation was found after a fire Saturday.

Langley Township firefighters and RCMP were called to the home in the 8200 block of 208th Street just before 6 p.m. on July 30.

A fire damaged a garage behind an older home on the east side of the street.

Fire crews doused the blaze, but discovered a possible grow op and called in the police.

The owner was on the property at the time, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

There was a medical marijuana growing license associated with the property, but it seems to have expired, Largy said.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been laid.

Fire crews partly blocked 208th Street at 82nd Avenue for a few hours Saturday, diverting traffic down side streets. RCMP officers stayed on scene into Sunday.
