Pregnant woman pepper sprayed

An incident that resulted in a number of people being pepper sprayed Monday morning was a drug-related home invasion, Langley RCMP say.

Police were alerted to the incident at about 9:30 a.m.

The incident resulted in numerous police officers and emergency responders heading to the area of 52nd Avenue and 203rd Street.

There were several people in the home at the time of the invasion, including a woman described as nine weeks pregnant by emergency dispatchers, and two men. The woman was pepper sprayed and checked out by emergency responders, and it was uncertain whether both of the men were affected by the pepper spray as well.

Police brought in the Canine Unit to try and track the suspects, but the dogs lots the trail, said Cpl. Holly Marks, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

No one was seriously injured in the attack.

At least some of the victims in the incident were known to police, Marks said.
