Public can still have input in Langley City budget

City of Langley residents will have an opportunity to discuss the city’s draft 2014 financial plan with staff and council at the upcoming Committee of the Whole meeting starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17 at Langley City Hall.

Plan highlights will be presented at the start of the meeting, which will be streamed live on the city’s website at city.langley.bc.ca. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for questions and public input.

“Feedback from residents strengthens the quality of our policy making, programs and service delivery,” said Acting Mayor Ted Schaffer. “It’s important that residents take some time to review the plan and, if they have questions, concerns or comments, we encourage them to attend the meeting.”

A copy of the draft 2014 financial plan and budget highlights can be downloaded from the City  website at city.langley.bc.ca. Printed copies are available at the City Corporate Services Department on the first floor of Langley City Hall at 20399 Douglas Cres.

Residents who are unable to attend the Committee of the Whole meeting, but wish to provide feedback, are asked to contact Carolyn Mushata, manager, City of Langley Legislative Services, by email at cmushata@langleycity.ca or by phone at 604-514-4591 before noon on Monday, Feb. 17.
