By the end of the summer, Fort Langley should have a rainbow crosswalk.

In a memo sent to council on Aug. 3, Township staff said the crosswalk at Glover Road and Mary Avenue is tentatively scheduled for installation the week of Aug. 28, as long as the weather complies.

But before the work can begin, paving will be done from Aug. 14 to 19 on Glover Road from St. Andrews Avenue to Mavis Avenue; on Mavis Avenue from McBride Street to King Street; and on 96 Avenue from Glover Road to approximately 100 metres west of the intersection.

The paving will all be done at night.

Coun. Angie Quaale shared the details in a post on her public Facebook page.

“It’s unfortunate we are missing Pride Week for the installation BUT better late than never!” she wrote.
