What one tipster, who contacted the Langley Advance Times, described as a “massive underage drinking house party” near the Langley-Surrey border took RCMP officers an hour-and-a-half to disperse on Sunday night, Oct. 8.

Langley RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Craig van Herk said just before 11 p.m. that night RCMP received “multiple calls of a large house party” in the 7300 block of 197th Street.

“We arrived and observed at least 100 teens and young adults at the residence,” van Herk said.

“The party started as a small gathering but the numbers quickly grew.”

Officers spoke with the owners of the residence and had the party shut down.

There were no arrests,no major incidents associated with the party, van Herk said, but it took some time to disperse due to the large numbers, “approximately an hour and a half.”
