About 100 people took part in a Brookswood-Fernridge neighbourhood rally on Sunday afternoon at Noel Booth Park.

The rally at the park on 36 Avenue and 202 Street was organized to oppose proposed development plans some residents say will lead to massive clear-cutting.

"Development applications are being put to and passed through the Township of Langley council ahead of our promised new Official Community Plan,” the event page on Facebook said.

The rally comes before a Township council public hearing on Monday about a development  proposal for 72 single family lots at 198 Street and 32 Avenue.
