It's been almost a month since 31-year-old Sajed Ghaffari-Marandi disappeared from Coquitlam, and now police are opening their search Canada-wide.

His sister, Samar, pleaded with the public on Tuesday for any information regarding his whereabouts.

"My brother means everything to me. He doesn't have to explain himself. We just need to know he's okay,” she said.

Ghaffari-Marandi was reported missing Dec.1. His last known contact was with a friend on the phone on Nov. 25. He was last seen a few days before with his father in Coquitlam.

Mounties have deemed his disappearance as high-risk, as the lack of contact is very unlike him. The don't, however, suspect foul play.

Ghaffari-Marandi owns a second-hand appliance store on Austin Avenue in Coquitlam called All Canadian Appliance Source, and his work truck has also gone missing. He has no prior criminal history.

Police said their initial investigations suggest he has disappeared with identification, his passport and his white, 2015 Nissan 200 van, with licence plate KF7 170.

He has not accessed email or used any of his bank cards since his disappearance.

Police said Ghaffari-Marandi is still in the country, and that he frequents Alberta, specifically Fort McMurray and Edmonton.

Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said if Ghaffari-Marandi would like to stay hidden, he needs to simply let police know he's okay and they will respect his privacy.

For family and friends of those who go missing, a month can feel like an eternity.

Holding her brother’s hat, Samar she and him are very close, and texted all the time. She described him as hyperactive, extremely kind, and loyal.

"I don't have a life without him," she said.
