Update: Surrey man stabbed during fight at Langley pub

Alcohol-involved brawl took place in parking lot

A 20-year-old Surrey man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a fight around 11:30 p.m. on Friday night, at a pub near 202 Street and 88 Avenue.

Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy confirmed the man was stabbed during an altercation involving two groups in the parking lot outside North Langley’s Oak and Thorne pub in fromnt of the Sandman Inn hotel.

“Alcohol is believed to be involved.” Largy said.

RCMP said the groups are believed to be known to each other and the victim was known to police.

Investigators will be reviewing surveillance footage in the area in an attempt to identify the parties involved.

A spokesperson for the pub, Ryan Moreno, CEO of The Joseph Richard Group, issued a statement that said the business is doing everything it can to assist the RCMP.

“Some of the individuals involved in the incident were previously in our establishment earlier in the evening and left without incident,” Moreno said.

“Later, our door team noticed the altercation near the Sandman and rushed over to break it up. Another staff member who is currently training to be a paramedic assisted until the ambulance arrived.”
