Steve Ferguson 20 Q for Langley Township (expanded only)

1. Should a new OCP allow increased density in Brookswood and Fernridge?

Yes, only under the structure of new community and resident involvement in the planning process. Protection of Environmentally sensitive areas, watersheds, and groundwater, amongst other things should also be taken into consideration. Density issues and fazing with important well planned traffic and transit items must also be addressed. Future Schools, Parks, and Commercial areas must be equally examined!

2. Should Township council act to slow down development of Willoughby?

No, Willoughby is NOT finished, therefore road networks, transit, and infill must continue in order to provide the necessary  future parks, recreation and schools. Walnut Grove once had these similar concerns and once it was completed, it is now one of the best areas to live in the region.

4. Would you vote in favour of a tax increase?

Yes, But we as a council must always be thinking outside the box, looking for new sources of revenues, ideas, and initiatives that SAVE taxpayers’ money. We cannot always go to the taxpayer for more money unless we have exhausted all other avenues.
