Stolen mail and ID seized from Langley City home

A prolific offender and a 24-year-old Langley woman were arrested at a residence that contained bags of stolen mail.

One of Surrey's most prolific offenders and a Langley woman were arrested at a Langley City home where a significant amount of stolen mail and ID were seized.

During the first week of November, Surrey RCMP received several complaints about mail being stolen involving a white Range Rover at various mailboxes throughout Surrey. Residents involved in Block Watch also said the SUV was being driven erratically through neighbourhoods.

Police began an extensive investigation and on Nov. 5 were able to locate the unoccupied stolen Range Rover at 192 Street and 54 Avenue, said Surrey RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Scotty Schumann.

Officers were then able to arrest the suspect driver outside a Langley home in the 20100 block of Fraser Highway. A subsequent search of the residence revealed a female suspect who was also arrested. Inside the home were bags of mail, identity documents and tools used to break into mailboxes.

Royce Heaton, 32, of Surrey has been charged with mail theft, among other charges. Emily Parsons, 24, of Langley faces a charge of theft of a credit card.
