Survivor fave visits Langley

There is just never enough room for all my rambles. But if you go to our website, the online version of today’s column will tell you a little about the business aspect of Langley Good Times Cruise-In and a hot tub car, among other things.

In the meantime, I have to share a little tidbit of celebrity gossip with you, too.

Rupert Boneham, of Survivor fame, is coming to Langley this weekend.

Clipper Street Scrapbook Company, at 105-6360 202nd St., is hosting a tie dying demonstration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, followed by a meet-and-greet, from 7 to 10 p.m., at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Langley Bypass, both featuring Boneham.

What’s bringing the reality television personality to Langley?

Well, to be honest, it’s charity motivated.

The event is intended to raise money for the TV personality and philanthropist’s fave charity – Rupert’s Kids (www.rupertskids.org).   It’s dedicated to empowering at-risk youth to discover thier inner strengths, realize their own self-worth, and recognize their value to society.

Boneham has been called an American mentor for troubled teens – dating back before Survivor.

He first appeared on Survivor in 2003 and placed eighth. He was brought back again in subsequent seasons, and eventually was voted a fan favourite.

Anyway, as always, I digress.

Clipper Street, which has been in business in town for more than 14 years, is inviting people to the tie dying for a cause event and expecting a lot of people to want to meet Rupert Boneham, himself.
