Suspect may have robbed banks in three cities

Coquitlam RCMP have released the name of a suspect.

UPDATE: Cang Wawu was arrested by the Surrey RCMP on June 9 and now faces charges in relation to three robberies.

Wawu, 18, was arrested without incident and remains in custody.

Investigators are still working on the case and more charges may be laid.

Coquitlam RCMP have identified a suspect in a string of bank robberies in Langley and across the Lower Mainland.

Cang Wawu is wanted by the Coquitlam RCM Pfor one count of robbery.

He is under investigation for a number of similar offences in other communities, said Const. Jamie Phillipson.

The Coquitlam Robbery Section worked with police from Surrey, Langley, New Westminster, and Vancouver in the investigation.

Wawu is a suspect in the May 22 robbery of a bank in the 3000 block of Lincoln Avenue in Port Coquitlam.

Police ask that anyone who sees Wawu not approach him, and call 911 immediately.

Wawu is 18 years old, with shaved black hair, standing 5’9” and 141 pounds, with a medium build.
