Someone took this 35 pound bronze statue of Guan Lin

A thief managed to shoplift a 35 pound bronze statue from a Langley antiques store late last month.

On Oct. 27, the owner of Country Lane Antiques in Fort Langley noticed that the statue had vanished from the show room, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

The statue was taken during normal open hours, and nothing else was stolen, Largy said.

It appears someone managed to carry out the unwieldy statue.

The statue is a one-foot sold bronze sculpture of Guan Lin, the Goddess of Mercy.

It is valued at $5,300.

Anyone with information on the theft can call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200 or to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
