A man was attacked with a bat and pepper spray in the early morning hours of April 16 in Walnut Grove and three males are now charged.
Charges have now been approved against three males in relation to the assault and robbery on Saturday.
Two men were walking home from the Tim Hortons in the early morning when a van pulled up beside them. Inside were three males.
“One of the victims was struck once with a baseball bat and managed to run away to call police,” said Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy. “ The second male wasn’t as fortunate and was attacked by all three males. He was struck several times with the bat and pepper sprayed.”
The victim was robbed of his cellphone and wallet.
The three males jumped back into the van and drove off.
“The first victim was able to provide a good description of the suspect vehicle and a van matching this description was located at a nearby gas station,” Largy said.
The three were arrested.
Timothy William Greenwood, age 18 of Langley is charged with robbery, attempted robbery and possession of stolen property. The van had been stolen earlier in Langley, Largy explained. He was held in custody to appear in court early in the week.
The other two charged can’t be named. A 16-year-old from Surrey and a 17-year-old from Mission also appeared in court to answer similar charges.
