Thursday open house set for 216 Street interchange project

Transport ministry to provide details, accept feedback at March 31 gathering

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is hosting an open house about the 216 Street Interchange on Thursday, March 31 at Alex Hope Elementary School.

Running from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the open house will provide an overview of the project, schedule, and budget of the interchange.

The open house will also provide an avenue for residents and the public to discuss the project with provincial and Township staff and ask questions, as well as provide feedback about the project.

The estimated $59 million interchange was announced last July and is planned to be a joint project of the federal, provincial and local governments.

The proposal includes widening the freeway, from 202 Street to 216 Street, to six lanes.

The government is taking online feedback on the project until April 21 at http://engage.gov.bc.ca/highway1and216/
