Winds are causing power outages and trees to fall in Langley on Wednesday afternoon.

A tree is down on power lines at 42 Avenue near 208 Street, said assistant fire chief Bruce Ferguson.

Power is out in the Port Kells area of Langley, South Surrey and White Rock.

It appears a tree may be down on Fraser Highway at 216 Street too.

Township fire crews were called to Fort Langley around 2:30 pm. where a tree looked like it may fall on the home. Ferguson said they left there after seeing there wasn’t a danger.

But if the wind continues to blow, fire halls will be in for a busy night, he said.

It’s being reported a tree fell on a fire hall in Surrey.
