Work began this week on two Extreme Home Makeovers by volunteers with the Aldergrove Acts of Kindness team.

The program, now in its 12th year, assists Aldergrove families with urgent home repairs, at no charge to the fortunate recipients.

The home in these photos is owned by Mike and Misty Shufflebotham and their son and daughter, and work includes construction of wheelchair access for Mike, 39, who is on permanent disability after a serious workplace accident.

The planned work also includes raising the sunken livingroom and a fresh coat of paint.

Similar work is being performed nearby at the home of Laura Canessa and her three sons.

Both families are away on “vacation” and will return for the “Big Reveal” on May Day, May 18.
